The religious wars continue…
The Daily Volk has been whingeing about bicycles a lot recently but their latest moan is about speed bumps to slow down bicyclists on a back alley in Islington. Apparently local pedestrians have complained about the danger posed by “speeding cyclists rampaging” down the street. Apparently.
Hells teeth…! Just look at them, would you? Pedestrians and cyclists battling for space on a thronging suburban thoroughfare… LOOK! Look at those “rampaging” cyclists!
Can “throng” be used as a verb?

Anybody else thinking – hmm, with one of those little bmx bikes – going full speed – that might be quite fun…
Move all those wheely bins to form a slalom course, and you’ve got yourself a sport.

If I was going to rampage anywhere, it would be here, I can assure you.

Why do they need that many speed bumps? Surely one or teo would be enough.

Strange that the Daily Mail couldn’t actually find any speeding cyclists to feature in their picture – or were they going so fast that the camera couldn’t actually catch them?

Doesn’t that photo show that the speed bumps are working?

@Cashley: They certainly seem to be keeping the pedestrians away too! Much cheaper to paint traffic segregation lines on the ground. Personally, I would be more concerned about the health and environmental issues of having all those “wheely bins” standing around on the path. No wonder there is a growing problem with rats and “urban” foxes in London…
